Beginning Experience of Winnipeg is the local chapter of an international support program for divorced, separated and widowed individuals, and their children. It is a intended to facilitate the resolution of grief surrounding the ending of a marriage or relationship and a starting place to promote healing.
Beginning Experience has proven to help individuals make a new beginning in life. The experience provides support and direction and offers participants an opportunity to re-evaluate their lives and to move on into the future with renewed hope.
Leadership for our programs is provided by former participants who have decided to give back to others after receiving help with their own grief, anger, and loneliness. They are "wounded healers" - specially trained men and women who are themselves widowed, separated or divorced. Having experienced similar personal losses, our facilitators can relate to the hurt and alienation suffered by those who have lost a partner.
The Vision of Beginning Experience is that people who have experienced divorce, separation, or the death of a spouse, partner or parent will work through their grief, be healed, transformed and free again to love themselves, others, and God.
So, if you are widowed, separated or divorced, you are invited to the Beginning Experience summer “Walk and Talk”. A group of Beginning Experience participants, facilitators and alumni meet at the Norwood Hotel parking lot (112 Marion Street) every Wednesday evening throughout July and August. We head out for a walk shortly after 7:00 pm. Our journey usually takes us over the Norwood Bridge, through The Forks, over the Provencher Bridge, down the path behind the St Boniface Hospital, back to the Norwood Hotel. Then we gather in the Norwood Hotel beverage room for conversation (drinks and food optional). Sometimes, we even join in for Karaoke! Read More...
